Pregnancy adjustmentPregnancy Chiropractic

As a mom of two, Dr. Gina understands how it feels to be pregnant. She understands the stress of pregnancy carrying around that extra weight, worrying about your baby or birth. At our office, you will find a comfortable environment full of compassionate people who are ready to empower you throughout your pregnancy.

When you are pregnant, the last thing you should have to be concerned with are aches and pains. Chiropractic care improves pelvic alignment and ensures your nervous system is functioning at optimum which both are critical throughout your pregnancy. Plus, chiropractic has been shown to decrease labor times – something every mom would love to have!

Dr. Gina has studied extensively with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) to learn how to provide safe, effective care during pregnancy. She is certified in the Webster Technique that has many beneficial results including creating a better environment for the baby in the uterus. When this occurs, your baby is more likely to be able to get into the proper position for birth.

With every expecting mom who comes in, we want to know: how do you envision your birthing experience? We understand how unpredictable giving birth can be and want to be another educational source on your pre-natal team. It is not for us to pressure you in any direction or the “right” way in giving birth. Dr. Gina’s role as a member on your birthing team, is to make sure you achieve the experience you want.

We sustain stressors daily, but did you know that the very first stress our body experiences is during birth? Even in the most natural of births, the substantial amount of pressure placed upon a newborn’s head during labor has been documented. We have had many of our new mom’s stop on the way home from delivery for their newborn chiropractic check-up.

Chiropractic adjustments are safe, gentle and restore proper function to the nervous system. When your nervous system functions optimally, your baby has the best chance at proper development. The amount of pressure placed for an infant adjustment is that equivalent to checking the ripeness of a tomato.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m pregnant, how soon should I start chiropractic care?

We recommend that you start care as soon as you learn that you are pregnant. Chiropractic care during pregnancy has been shown to help maintain proper pelvic stability and alignment in addition to positively influencing the function of the nervous system. It is safe to continue seeing Dr. Gina throughout your pregnancy until going into labor.

How often will I need to come in?

The priority is to stabilize any symptoms or conditions you initially come in for. As you get closer to your due date, we will increase the frequency of your visits. This is done to ensure ideal pelvic alignment, preparing you for the best birth possible.

Is the adjustment safe during pregnancy?

Yes. We have specialized pillows and tables allowing pregnant moms to comfortably lie facedown. You and your baby’s safety are top priority and one of the main reasons for Dr. Gina’s additional training with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Should I bring my baby in after birth?

Yes! We encourage you to come in with your baby so you can both get checked as soon as you are able to after birth.
